Hope is a scenic 16-mile side trip off the Seward Highway on a good paved road. Buildings built during the Gold Rush can still be found in downtown Hope, the white and green store has been serving customers since 1896.

The Hope and Sunshine Historical and Mining Museum has an interesting array of old mining structures and artifacts from the area.
